CO2 emission of Highlander Hybrid is192.0 g/km, which is about 55% less than other cars of the same class equipped with emissions control devices.
Toyota has also adopted a three way catalyst and VVT-i, as well as improving performances of the air-fuel ratio compensator, Electric Spark Advancer, fuel evaporative emission control system and other devices and systems, thereby proactively suppressing generation of toxic emissions and enhancing the capacity to cleanup emissions. Thus, the Highlander Hybrid has achieved emissions standards which are about less than half those of cars of the same class equipped with emissions control devices.
