Philosophy of developing the HYBRID SYNERGY DRIVE -TODAY for TOMORROW
"TODAY for TOMORROW" Do what can be done today, to improve the worsening global environmental conditions and solve the energy issues. Toyota has been striving to take on the challenge to make hybrid vehicles commercially available and advancing the relevant technologies under this spirit.
Nowadays, global warming, depletion of fossil fuels and other environmental issues are increasing in their seriousness. "Reduction of CO2 emissions" and "construction of social structure that utilizes petrol as well as other alternative clean and safe energy resources" are issues that we must take on today, for the future generations of the next several decades.
Petroleum is indispensable to produce and propel automobiles of today. Consequently, emissions of CO2 are inevitable. As long as current automobiles use petroleum as fuel, it is essential to develop automobiles that consume as little fuel as possible. The less petrol burnt to run, the less CO2 emitted. At the same time, we need to develop technologies for the coming age in which petroleum will be replaced by alternative propulsion energy resources.
Even if such time comes, we believe that the hybrid technology will continue to play a major role as its concept can be applied to various technologies and not just to the current combination of gas/petrol and electricity.
As a pioneer, Toyota is determined to further advance the hybrid technology for the future of the automobile.
